Welcome

We are third graders. Our teachers are Ms. Roslyn and Ms. Abby. We are here to learn and think. We love academics: technology, math, reading, writing, spelling, science and social studies. We love to be creative. We are creative all day long especially in writing, movement, art, music, P.E. and recess. We promise to have respect and be kind to each other, with awesomeness and coolness for all.

We are using this blog to share with people what we are learning and thinking.

Grasshopers

Posted in Cole, Stories and Writing | No Comments »

They lurch they lope

from grass to grass

waiting for a gnat to pass.

Skipping , gliding

across the leaves

danging though the autumn breeze.

And when ice scatters across the pond,

and trees are bare and cold,

the dance back home

lurching and loping

skipping on trees

while the are hopping,

for summer to arrive.

Thunder Storm

Posted in Declan, Stories and Writing | No Comments »

The Clouds Roll In

like sheep walking through the pasture

lightning rockets through the sky

like a strobe light flashing on and off

”boom” thunder comes next

the rain pours down

as if someone had turned a faucet on in the sky

”pitter, patter, pitter, patter”

the rain never stops

The trees ach and bend

like someone bending over to tie their shoe

the wind blowing hard on my face

tearing across the valley it goes

as the storm dies away

no more lightning

no more thunder

The rain stops

ever thing is back to normal

Check out our poem about friendship.  Students wrote this collaboratively.  The structure is based on Margaret Wise Brown’s Important Poems.

MERMAIDS

Posted in Martha, Stories and Writing | No Comments »

Slithering,

shivering,

shimmering,

mermaids.

They slither on the ground,

even though they’re bound,

to shiver while they’re at it.

They shimmer under the sea,

while they look at me.

spiders

Posted in Maya | No Comments »

spiders,

8 legs,

8  eyes,

hypnotized

their web spun into art

it is no shop in a mart

they catch their food

I never said they were in a good mood

be kind to spiders,

bugs would be a big pest,

and the world would be in permanent rest

even if they are ugly,

that does not mean they cant be cute

spiders,

8 legs,

8 eyes,

hypnotized

say

Say I’m magnificent,

say I’m talented,

say I’m smart,

say I’m so beautiful

I glimmer in the light.

But say what is true.

schedule

wake up in the morning,

have breakfast

walk out the door with

a pancake in my fist.

have school

walk back home

go to sleep and then it’s done.

I do this boring schedule every day

except on Fridays it’s a magnificent way to have a

day hurray!
